En-Suite Bathrooms Your Personal Slice of Luxury

Let’s have a chat about en-suite bathrooms. They’re proper game-changers, if you ask me.

I’ve been fitting bathrooms in Leicester for years now, and the difference an en-suite makes to people’s daily lives never ceases to amaze me. It’s not just about having an extra loo – it’s about creating your own little sanctuary.

Why Get an En-Suite?

Picture this: it’s 3 am, and you need the loo. Instead of trudging down the hallway, dodging that creaky floorboard that always wakes everyone up, you’ve got your own bathroom right there. Sounds good, doesn’t it?

Had this customer in Knighton last month, Sarah. She’d been sharing one bathroom with her husband and three teenagers. Nightmare! We converted a bit of their master bedroom into an en-suite, and now she reckons it’s saved her marriage. Bit dramatic maybe, but you get the idea!

Making the Most of Your Space

Now, I know what you’re thinking – “My bedroom’s not big enough for an en-suite.” Well, you’d be surprised. I’ve fitted en-suites in all sorts of spaces. Sometimes it’s about nicking a bit of room from a built-in wardrobe, other times we might look at that box room next door that’s just collecting junk.

We did this clever job in Stoneygate recently. The couple had this awkward L-shaped master bedroom. We used the shorter part of the ‘L’ to create a compact but proper luxurious en-suite. Now instead of wasted space, they’ve got a beautiful bathroom that looks like it was always meant to be there.

What Goes Into Fitting an En-Suite?

It’s not just a case of bunging in a toilet and a sink. There’s quite a bit to think about: First off, we need to sort the plumbing. Sometimes we can tap into existing pipes, other times we need to get a bit creative. But don’t worry – we’ve yet to meet a plumbing challenge we couldn’t solve.

Then there’s ventilation. Proper important, that. Nobody wants a steamy, damp bedroom. We’ll sort out an extractor fan that’s quiet but effective. Waterproofing’s crucial too. We treat every en-suite like a wet room in terms of tanking (that’s waterproofing to non-bathroom geeks). Keeps everything bone dry where it should be.

Making It Work for You

Every en-suite we fit is different because every customer’s different. Some folks want the works – shower, toilet, sink, bidet, the lot. Others just want a loo and a sink for those midnight trips.

We had this couple in Oadby who were dead set on having a bath in their en-suite. Bit tricky given the space, but we figured it out. Found this lovely shorter bath that fit perfectly. Now they’ve got their own little spa retreat!

Time-wise, you’re looking at about 5-7 days for a standard en-suite fitting. Bit longer if we’re having to move walls or do anything structural.

Cost? Well, that depends on what you’re after. We can work with different budgets, but I’ll always be straight with you about what’s possible. Rather that than promise the moon on a shoestring.

What Makes Our En-Suites Special?

It’s all in the details, if you ask me. We think about things like:

Where the light switches go (no fumbling in the dark)

Making sure there’s enough elbow room around the sink

Clever storage solutions so you’re not tripping over toilet rolls

Heating – nothing worse than a chilly bathroom in the morning
